Hard to believe most schools in the area head back next week. Summer always seems to fly by, but this year felt especially fast. Still, we made the most of it. Lazy mornings, pool days, playdates, and more little adventures around town than I can count. And with just a few days left, weโre still squeezing in what we can.

There are plenty of back-to-school events coming up, and weโll be sure to hit a few. If your kiddos are heading back too, I hope you get a few more summer memories in before the school routine kicks in. Maybe weโll see you out there!

๐ก๏ธ Cedar Park Tops List of Safest Austin Suburbs

The Gist: Cedar Park has been ranked one of the safest suburbs in America for 2025, landing at No. 55 on SmartAssetโs national list. Other nearby cities also made the cut, including Georgetown (No. 71), Taylor (No. 103), and Round Rock (No. 111), showing that Central Texas continues to shine when it comes to suburban safety.
Why It Matters: Safety is a big factor for families choosing where to live, and Cedar Park continues to stand out. Great schools, tight-knit neighborhoods, and a strong sense of community make it a place people want to stay long term.

New construction is turning heads right now-and with all the shiny incentives, itโs easy to see why. Iโm all for a good deal, but hereโs something to keep in mind: when you buy in a new construction community, you're buying from your future competition. Many of these builders will be cranking out homes for years to come, so when itโs time to sell, you'll be up against them-and their flashy incentives-all over again.
A resale home in an established neighborhood might be the smarter move. You can negotiate closing cost help from the seller, lower your payment, and avoid going toe-to-toe with a builder when itโs your turn to sell.

๐ฅฏ Fresh Bagels. Big Flavor. No Fuss.

14300 Ronald Reagan Blvd, Leander
Leanderโs breakfast scene gets a boost with The Williamson County Bagel Company. From classic egg-and-cheese sandwiches to churro bagels with crispy edges, everything tastes fresh, warm, and made with care.
The drive-thru makes it perfect for the Parmer commute crowd, and the cream cheese alone is worth a detour. Be sure to try the jalapeรฑo cheddar. It's bold, toasty, and totally underrated.

๐ Big City Slices in Small-Town Leander

508 N Bell Blvd, Cedar Park
Nikiโs Pizza keeps it simple: giant slices, no trendy nonsense.
A longtime neighborhood favorite, it serves foldable New York-style pies, thick Sicilian slabs, and a white pizza with a cult following. Itโs not flashy. Just fast, friendly, and reliably great. Perfect for families, delivery nights, or anyone who likes their pizza XL.
