Happy last week of school to all the parents riding the end-of-year rollercoaster!

Our "baby" is graduating kindergarten today, and somehow our big girl is headed into 3rd grade. That was the grade I used to teachβ€”those were the β€œbig kids”—so yeah, this one’s hitting a little harder than expected.

I’m so excited to soak up these next 12-ish weeks of summer with the kids at homeβ€”and you better believe I’ll be keeping an eye out for all the best local events and activities to help keep everyone happy and entertained.

Cheers to a fun and easygoing summer ahead!

MUV recital last weekend! Such an impressive production! 🩷

🚰 Water System Maintenance Starts 05/27

Heads up, Liberty Hill!
From May 27 to June 27, the city will refresh its water system with routine maintenance. You might notice a faint chlorine smell or some brief discoloration, but the water’s still safe to drink for people, pets, and plants. This seasonal flush helps keep things running smoothly.

Neighbors with dialysis machines, aquariums, or poolsβ€”note that some extra care may be needed. For questions, just reach out to the Water Department at [email protected]. Read more here.

πŸ—οΈ YMCA Expands Cedar Park Space

The Twin Lakes Family YMCA is adding a new adventure course and pavilion to better serve the hundreds of kids who visit each day during summer camp. The new course will accommodate up to 100 kids at once and be open to the public outside of camp season.

Construction begins this week and should wrap in 9–12 months. Funded by Williamson County and generous local donors, the expansion brings more room for families to play, grow, and connect. Read more here.

✈️ Austin Airport Adds More Space

Austin-Bergstrom has begun work on a 12,000-square-foot expansion inside the Barbara Jordan Terminal. The Atrium Infill Project will ease TSA and ticket counter congestion, especially during peak travel times. Construction surrounds baggage claim and won’t affect flights or security lines. Expect temporary walls and some noise.

The Barbara Jordan statue will be protected and unveiled again when work wraps in 2026. Funded partly by federal infrastructure dollars, this project is one piece of the airport’s ongoing, traveler-focused upgrades. Read more here.

Leander’s newest Scooter’s Coffee opened back in Februaryβ€”but we just spotted it. It’s the second location in town, serving up drive-thru lattes, teas, smoothies, and their fan-favorite Caramelicious (espresso, caramel sauce, whipped creamβ€”basically dessert in a cup).

Fast, easy, and fully caffeinated. Perfect for hectic mornings or anyone powered by sugar and espresso. For more details, click HERE.

Our Favorites

🍰 Michelle's Patisserie – Liberty Hill

1908 Main St, Liberty Hill

This charming French-inspired bakery brings cozy elegance and top-tier treats to downtown Liberty Hill. Locals rave about the flaky almond croissants, colorful macarons, and indulgent cheesecake barsβ€”all served in a delightfully quaint setting with tea rooms and outdoor seating.

🍣 Soto – Cedar Park

11066 Pecan Park Blvd Suite 402, Cedar Park

Modern Japanese dining with polished service, bold cocktails, and showstopping plates like the Salmon on Fireβ€”literally served flaming at the table. It’s a splurge, but dishes like A5 wagyu risotto and truffle tuna make it a worthy one.

Portions lean modest, but the attention to flavor and flairβ€”from omakase to dessertβ€”makes it all feel indulgent. Great for impressing your sushi-loving friends. For more details, click HERE.
