If you haven’t made it to the Round Rock Pumpkin Festival yet, there’s still time. It runs through October 31 and is packed with family fun including bounce houses, slides, train rides, pumpkin painting, a corn kernel pit, great local vendors, and of course, plenty of pumpkins and good vibes all around. It may be a bit of a drive, but absolutely worth it. We had such a fun time there and will definitely be back next year.

The Gist: Construction on the Leander Senior Activity Center is now set to wrap up by Nov. 19, according to city officials. The 11880 Hero Way W. facility will feature a multipurpose room, kitchen, fitness area, and activity spaces designed to serve Leander’s growing senior community.

Why It Matters: After years of planning and delays, this long-awaited project is almost ready to open its doors. It is exciting to see a new space coming together where our seniors can gather, stay active, and connect with friends old and new.

The Gist: Harmony Science Academy officially opened its new Leander campus on Oct. 17 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by students, families, and school officials. The school welcomed 640 elementary students this fall after receiving a record 4,400 applications for admission.

Why It Matters: The new campus expands educational opportunities for Leander families and marks a milestone in Harmony Public Schools’ 25th year. It’s exciting to see more spaces for young minds to learn, grow, and thrive right here in our community.
