🍎 Teachers: The real MVPs of August

Some schools in the area are heading back today, while a few districts are holding onto a couple more bonus days of summer. Some parents are more than ready. Some of us (hi, me) are basically devastated . And some of you don’t have school-aged kids and truly could not care less. Also valid!

As a former teacher, my heart is especially with all the educators starting a new school year. I know how much time, energy, patience, and heart it takes to do that job well. We are incredibly lucky in this community to have truly some of the most dedicated and inspiring teachers I’ve ever seen.

So here’s to a great year ahead for students, staff, and families. Let’s be the kind of community that keeps showing up for our schools. It's just one more reason this is such a great place to call home.

The Gist: ALDI is preparing to open a new grocery store at 850 N. Bell Blvd. in Cedar Park, in the former Big Lots space. Renovations are expected to start Sept. 22 and wrap up by early February, with $1.75 million in planned updates. The 23,600-square-foot store will join ALDI’s five other Central Texas locations.
