🐮 Looking for a local farmer?

We just came across Shirttail Creek Farm — a hidden gem out of Brenham you might’ve spotted at Austin farmers markets or their two micro-groceries, Local Pastures.

They’ve been farming regeneratively since 2016, focused on healthy land and happy animals. Their eggs have deep-orange yolks — the stuff of legend. They’ve also got pasture-raised chicken, pork, juicy ground beef — even whole cows if your freezer’s ready. 🐮🥚

🏫 LISD Considers School Closures to Address Budget Gap

Lots of parents in Leander ISD are concerned about possible school closures after the district shared news about a big budget deficit. They’ve already made cuts, and now school consolidation is being discussed.

A bunch of neighbors (over 1,000!) have signed a petition asking the district to look at other options. Nothing’s decided yet — more updates are coming at the May 29 board meeting. Read more here.

💦 Cedar Park Pools Getting a Refresh

Some fun changes are on the horizon for Cedar Park’s community pools! On 04/10, City Council gave the go-ahead to start designing an expansion for Veterans Memorial Pool—with early ideas like a lazy river, splashy play zones, waterslides, and shaded cabanas.

Milburn Pool is also in line for updates, including a renovated pool house and fresh new playscape. Read more here.

📚 Liberty Hill ISD Prepares for Rapid Student Growth

As more families settle in Liberty Hill, the school district is planning for the future. Enrollment is expected to reach 19,000 by 2034—almost double today’s numbers. With Santa Rita Middle already over capacity, the district will add a few portable classrooms for now, and a new middle school is set to open in 2026.

School leaders say they’re staying ahead of the curve to keep schools welcoming, balanced, and ready to grow with the community. Read more here.
