Cedar Park Approves Pool Upgrades at Veterans Memorial and Milburn Parks

Plans include new water features, shaded seating, and a refreshed pool house

Cedar Park is taking steps to upgrade its local swimming spots. On April 10, the City Council approved the start of design work for improvements at two of the city's most used community pools—Veterans Memorial Pool and Milburn Pool.

Veterans Memorial Pool: Bigger and Splashier

Veterans Memorial Pool, located at 2525 W New Hope Dr, is set to get an expansion that could include a lazy river, interactive splash zones, waterslides, and shaded cabanas. These additions are part of early conceptual designs and aim to enhance the family-friendly experience already offered at the pool.

The updates are still in the planning phase, but city officials are hoping the design work will give residents a clearer picture of what’s possible. Funding and final designs will come later, after more community input and budget review.

Milburn Pool: Renovation and Traffic Watch

Just off the busy Anderson Mill Road, Milburn Pool is also slated for upgrades. Planned improvements include a renovated pool house and a new playscape area for children.

Nearby residents voiced concerns about increased traffic during the planning process. In response, city staff noted they will continue monitoring the area and may suggest additional traffic calming measures if needed.

Community-Focused Refresh

These improvements are part of Cedar Park’s broader efforts to enhance local recreation options and maintain high-quality public amenities. While timelines for construction haven’t been finalized, the approval to begin design marks a major step toward modernizing the city’s pool infrastructure.

More details will be shared as designs are developed and presented to the public for feedback.
