The Super Bowl is coming up this weekend, and based on our poll, it sounds like we’ve got way more Seahawks fans than Patriots fans around here. We’ll see how it all shakes out!

Truth be told, we’re more of a college football household than NFL, but we’ll still be tuning in for the big game. There are plenty of great spots around town running game day specials, including Game On Bar & Grill in Leander. It's opening this Saturday just in time for kickoff on Sunday and you can read more about it below!

If football isn’t your thing, the warmer weather this weekend is a pretty solid consolation prize. We’re excited to soak up some sunshine and cheer on the kids at their outdoor sports games. However you’re spending the weekend, we hope it’s a good one!

😁 SmileCraft Dental Hosting Free Care Day

The Gist: SmileCraft Dental is opening its doors on March 7 from 9 am to 2 pm to offer free dental care for veterans and community members who may be facing financial hardship. Services include exams, basic cleanings, fillings, simple extractions, oral cancer screenings, emergency care, and X-rays.

Why It Matters: Dental care isn’t always easy to access, and for some neighbors, it gets pushed to the back burner. This event offers a much-needed helping hand and a chance to take care of something important at no cost. We love seeing a local dental clinic step up to support our community and help a few more people leave with healthier, happier smiles!

Brushy Creek Sports Park Upgrades Coming

The Gist: Cedar Park is on track to wrap up improvements at Brushy Creek Sports Park by spring 2026. Updates include new fencing and nets around the fields, better drainage and infields for softball, expanded parking, refreshed trails, and a new maintenance building. The fields will remain natural grass.

Why It Matters: Many local families spend their weekends at Brushy Creek for games, practices, and time outdoors. These improvements should make the park safer and more enjoyable for everyone. It’s great to see a community park getting the attention it deserves, and we’re looking forward to enjoying the updates when they’re complete.

🏨 New Hotel and Entertainment Hub Planned

The Gist: ARS Developers are planning a 21-acre mixed-use development off Hero Way in Leander, expected to open by 2028. The project includes a four-story hotel with 123 rooms, a 32,000-square-foot Big Air trampoline and adventure park, a 13,000-square-foot sports bar, and an 11,500-square-foot event center, along with retail space, a warehouse, and a dog park.

Why It Matters: This development would bring more dining, entertainment, and lodging options to Leander, along with new places for families to spend time together. It also means more local jobs and activity, all without having to leave town.
