We just got back from a family trip to Sedona, Arizona and I know it’s not local, but I can't recommend it enough. The red rock views, peaceful hikes, and slower pace were exactly what we needed. Pure reset.

Now we're home just in time for summer to start winding down. Hard to believe school starts in a couple of weeks, so we're soaking up every bit of break while we can.

The Gist: Leander ISD PTA Clothes Closet is hosting a Back-to-School event on Saturday, Aug. 2, offering free clothing for Pre-K through 12th grade students living within LISD boundaries, no income requirements or vouchers needed.

🕘 South Location: 6500 Sitio del Rio Blvd, Austin, TX — 9 AM to 12 PM

The Gist: Leander’s Planning and Zoning Commission voted to deny an updated plan for the long-delayed 78-acre Leander Springs development, which promised apartments, retail, a hotel, and a four-acre lagoon near FM 2243 and US 183A.

Developers wanted to reduce units, cap building heights, and revise timelines, but without approval, the project is stalled.

Why It Matters: This decision adds another roadblock to the $1 billion project that would be a game-changer for Leander. Now we’re faced with more delays and more waiting.

Who’s making moves in this market? Grandparents! Lately, I’ve had a wave of calls from grandparents ready to trade out-of-state living for quality time with their Texas grandkids. Let’s be honest, nothing pulls at the heartstrings like squishy cheeks and sideline seats at every game.

Dreams do come true. Summer Moon officially opened in Leander on July 19, and the fire-roasted beans have already won over the neighborhood. The space is bright and welcoming, perfect for working, people-watching, or pretending to work while sipping something iced and creamy.
