🐾 First Self-Scan Pet Microchip Station Arrives in Leander

The Gist: Leander PD just installed its first self-serve microchip scanning station outside its headquarters on Leander Drive. If you find a lost pet, you can now scan for a chip ID using the wand and posted instructions. No officer needed. It’s the first station of its kind in the area, with more planned around the city.
Why It Matters: This makes it faster and easier for neighbors to help reunite missing pets with their families. No vet visit required. And with more pets than usual potentially displaced after last week, the timing couldn’t be better. Read more here.

🌊 Volente Beach Resort – Leander

16107 FM 2769, Leander
Volente Beach Resort & Waterpark feels like a summer throwback in the best way: laid-back, local, and full of heart. Families love the pirate pool for little ones, while adults kick back with a drink by the lakeview bar.
It’s technically in Volente, but the mailing address says Leander... which means Leander gets bragging rights. You’ll find water slides, sand, music, and friendly staff who actually seem happy to be there. The food’s way better than expected, and the vibe is pure, easygoing Texas fun. Read more here.
🥟 Multi Cook – Cedar Park

251 N Bell Blvd #101, Cedar Park
Craving Eastern European comfort food? Multi Cook in Cedar Park is a hidden gem. Open just since June 7, this Ukrainian-owned shop sells handmade, flash-frozen dishes like cherry crepes, salmon blini, savory dumplings, and syrnyky. Those are mini cheesecakes meant to be topped with jam.
Everything is made fresh in-house with no additives. The staff is friendly, and the flavors are incredible. Highly recommend checking it out! Read more here.
