🛍️ Confirmed: A brand-new T.J. Maxx is coming to Hwy 183

A few days back into school, and we’re settling back into the normal swing of things. I’m definitely missing the laid-back mornings and extra family time from break, but there’s also something energizing about starting a fresh year. The Gist: A new T.J. Maxx store is planned for Liberty Hill Crossing Shopping Center at 353 N. U.S. Hwy. 183, Ste. 300. The store will be just over 25,000 square feet, with construction expected to start in mid-March 2026 and wrap up by August. It joins other major retailers coming to the area, including Costco and Target.

Why It Matters: This adds another everyday shopping option close to home and points to Liberty Hill’s continued growth as a retail hub. It’s one more example of Liberty Hill’s growth and the growing convenience for local families.

The Gist: Costco has started posting jobs for its future Liberty Hill store on the company’s careers page. Open roles include everything from cashiers and bakers to tire installers, forklift drivers, and pharmacy positions. All of the listings are tied to the Liberty Hill location, so it looks like hiring is getting underway ahead of opening.

Why It Matters: This means local job opportunities are already popping up as the project moves forward. Seeing those postings live makes the Liberty Hill Costco feel a lot closer to becoming a reality!

The Gist: The City of Leander is asking residents to weigh in on the railroad crossing at Crystal Falls Parkway and US 183. Feedback will support a major grant application aimed at future grade separation work to improve safety and traffic flow. The short public survey is open through January 12th.

Why It Matters: This crossing impacts daily commutes, emergency access, and safety in one of Leander’s busiest corridors. It’s nice to have a real chance to speak up about a spot many of us deal with every day.

After months of buzz, Estância Brazilian Steakhouse has officially arrived in Leander and is currently in soft opening mode. The dining room feels polished, with gauchos carving meats tableside and a steady flow of classic Brazilian steakhouse favorites.

Early visits have highlighted standout service and a lively atmosphere. Our family loves Brazilian steakhouses, so we’re pumped to try this one out. It’s already shaping up to be a go-to for special dinners and celebratory nights close to home.

Margaritas and Time Out Sports Bar have both closed in Liberty Hill. The building they shared along Highway 29 has been sold, and plans are moving forward for a new Denny’s at that location as part of a larger commercial development. Construction is expected to begin in spring 2026, with an opening projected for early 2027.

Time Out is planning to relocate, and we’ll share updates as more details become available. It’s a quiet end for longtime local stops, even as the property gets ready for a fresh chapter.
