📉 Leander ISD Faces Deficit
Leander ISD is planning staff reductions for the 2025-26 school year to address a $34.4M budget deficit. The district will focus on cutting campus and central office positions, aiming for $15.8M in savings. Superintendent Bruce Gearing encourages staff to join upcoming webinars to discuss the situation and urges advocacy for better state funding. 🏫 More details here.
🚧 Leander's San Gabriel Parkway Phase 2
Leander approved a $6.9 million contract for the second phase of the San Gabriel Parkway extension. It will connect the existing road to Ronald Reagan Boulevard and must be finished within 600 days. The city plans to start bidding for Phase 3 by late 2025. 🛣️
🏞️ New Trail in Cedar Park
Great news, neighbors! Cedar Park just opened the Brushy Creek North Fork Trail—a beautiful 3-mile paved path along Brushy Creek. It connects to the regional trail system, making it even easier to get outside and explore. Perfect for a walk, run, or bike ride. See you out there! 🏃♀️
