Anyone else loving this gorgeous February weather? Two weeks ago we were freezing, and now we’re soaking up the sun. Not mad about it at all.

💼 New Job Opportunities in Liberty Hill
Liberty Hill is set to gain hundreds of new jobs with Costco's new 150,000-square-foot warehouse. The development will bring both construction jobs and positions at the store, potentially hiring hundreds of people once operational.
Costco owns the entire shopping center land, which is unusual for them. They're also looking for other businesses to join. Someone needs to convince the CEO of Terry Black’s to open a spot here! 😋
🚦 New Signal on Ronald Reagan Blvd
Leander City Council approved a task order for a new traffic signal at Ronald Reagan Blvd and Palmera Ridge Blvd. The $113,318 contract includes engineering, design, and pedestrian improvements, with RPS Infrastructure handling planning and oversight.
The decision follows a 2023 study recommending the signal due to increased development and traffic concerns. Construction will be contracted out, with timelines yet to be announced.
This one really is necessary, as the traffic to turn onto RR here is just brutal in the morning. I imagine it’s quite dangerous for them. But damn do all these new lights going in on Ronald Reagan significantly slow down our commutes south. There’s always tradeoffs for everything I guess.
📚 Liberty Hill ISD Weighs 4-Day School Week
Liberty Hill ISD is considering a shift to a four-day school week for the 2025-26 academic year. The district is nearing a decision, with a vote expected at the February 18th meeting.
The district says the move could help retain teachers and boost student performance. Officials are gathering feedback from parents, staff, and the community before deciding.
Supporters argue it could reduce teacher burnout and improve job satisfaction, while critics worry about childcare challenges and potential learning setbacks. If approved, the new schedule would start in August.
⛽ Cedar Park Rejects Gas Rate Hike
Cedar Park City Council voted to deny Atmos Energy’s proposed gas rate increase, which would have raised residential bills by about $7.91 per month. The request aimed to generate $16.73 million in additional revenue for Atmos' Mid-Tex Division, but the city opted against it.
Cedar Park residents receive natural gas from both Texas Gas Service and Atmos Energy. The rate hike would not have affected commercial or industrial customers.
