🐾 Cedar Bark Park reopens for local pups

We spent Sunday at the Sazón Latin Food Festival at The Crossover, and it was just a really good day. The weather was perfect, the music was fun, and there were so many great, unique vendors to check out along with plenty of food to try.

One thing we always appreciate about events at The Crossover is how easy they are with kids. Ours bounced between the playground and the festival while we got to enjoy the music and browse. Having space for them to run around makes the whole outing feel relaxed instead of stressful. We’ll definitely be back to check out more Crossover events this spring.

The Gist: Cedar Bark Park, located inside Veterans Memorial Park, is officially back open! Residents can start enjoying the park right away, while staff wraps up a few final touches this week.

Why It Matters: This park is a favorite spot for local pups and their people. It’s great to have a place again where dogs can run, play, and burn off energy while neighbors catch up.

The Gist: The CEFCO at 717 S. U.S. Hwy. 183 is getting a makeover and will become a Casey’s General Store. The 5,200-square-foot building will be remodeled, with construction potentially starting in June and wrapping up around September.

Why It Matters: As Liberty Hill keeps growing, it’s nice to see more everyday options popping up around town. This will give locals another quick stop for gas, snacks, or a bite on the go.

The Gist: Liberty Hill crews broke ground Feb. 25 on an Advanced Water Purification Facility pilot project. The program will test methods to purify reclaimed wastewater to drinking water standards, forming the foundation of the city’s long-term water plan. The $15 million pilot project, funded through a $26 million bond, will help guide development of a full-size facility.

Why It Matters: With water demand projected to rise sharply over the coming decades, the future full-scale facility could deliver up to 4 million gallons of clean water per day for residents. Planning ahead like this feels like a smart move for a fast-growing community
