🚧 Big changes coming to Hero Way. Buckle up.

Charlie recently started baseball through i9 Sports, and it’s been great so far. We’ve done soccer with i9 before, but baseball was new for us. Even after the first class, Charlie showed real improvement, and his coach has been so kind and patient with the little ones. The whole experience feels low-stress and encouraging, which makes such a difference for kids who are learning the game for the first time.

We’re really looking forward to the rest of the season, though we wouldn’t mind a few warmer weekends sprinkled in! If you’re looking for a positive, kid-centered sports experience, i9 might be worth checking out.

The Gist: Hero Way (RM 2243) is getting a major upgrade. The road will be widened and rebuilt into a controlled-access highway with multiple lanes, frontage roads, and better connections to 183A, Ronald Reagan Blvd, and the Southwest Bypass.

Why it Matters: This stretch is already busy and only getting more congested. The project is designed to improve safety, reduce traffic backups, and prepare for the growth happening all around Leander and Williamson County. It also includes better accommodations for pedestrians and cyclists.

What’s Next: Phase 1 kicks off with a new three-lane frontage road from 183A to Garey Park. One frontage road will handle two-way traffic for now, with additional phases coming later as funding allows and growth continues.

If you’re wondering where to watch the Super Bowl, Beachside Billy’s is setting up a massive 25-foot screen right on the stage. There’s something special about catching the game by Lake Travis, especially with their fire pits going and plenty of food specials.

You can even jump in on the game-day squares, starting at $5. It’s a free event, so plan to arrive early to grab a prime viewing spot.

San Gabriel River Brewery is hosting a Super Bowl Watch Party, starting at 5 pm. With plenty of indoor seating and big screens, it’s a great place to settle in with friends and enjoy the game in a relaxed, community-friendly atmosphere.

A buffet-style food table will be set up with a small donation to help cover costs, plus beer and drink specials flowing all night. Come hungry, bring friends, and cheer loud.
