Wow, what a year!

I can’t believe it’s already been one whole year since we started our Leander Scoop journey. When we first kicked this off, we had no idea how quickly it would grow or how warmly we’d be welcomed into the community. It’s been such a joy sharing all the best happenings in and around Leander and connecting with so many of you along the way.

The Gist: Cedar Park–based Firefly Aerospace announced plans to acquire national defense tech firm SciTec Inc. in a deal valued at $855 million. The mix of cash and stock will expand Firefly’s reach into missile detection, surveillance, and AI-powered defense systems, strengthening its role in national security and space operations.

The 7,900-square-foot restaurant will bring more than 200 jobs to the area and serve up a menu full of ribs, burgers, fried chicken, and made-from-scratch sides.
