A neighborhood favorite with serious flavor

At 104 West Willis St, Leander, The Thirsty Chicken has built a quiet buzz thanks to juicy wings and sauces with real personality. The Cajun flavor gets the most love, but the lineup of Bird Baths gives you plenty to explore. Regulars rave about the fried pickles, the relaxed patio, and the staff who make you feel like part of the family. Add in those cold New Orleans-style daiquiris and it is clear why people keep coming back.

A family-run spot with heart

Owners Sandra and Clifton Lott started the restaurant after a trip to New Orleans, hoping to bring that same fun, colorful chicken-and-daiquiri vibe home to Leander. Everything on the menu is made from scratch and cooked to order. Their son, Rycherd, created the original recipes and visits each month to develop new flavors. It is a true family operation, and the warm atmosphere reflects that.

More than wings

While wings are the star, the menu has plenty of extras worth trying. The fried cauliflower bites are a sleeper hit, the Clucked Up Fries come piled high, and the cereal-flavored and wine daiquiris add a playful twist. It is casual, lively, and built for families and friends who want good food without the fuss.
