Sprouts Plans Leander Store in Northline Development

Natural grocer to anchor new 17-acre retail space in city’s growing downtown hub

Sprouts Farmers Market has announced plans for a new store in Leander, joining the city’s Northline development with a 25,000-square-foot location. The store will be a key feature of the 17-acre retail area within the 116-acre mixed-use project near U.S. Highway 183 and San Gabriel Parkway.

Major Retail Addition to a Transforming District

Construction is expected to begin in February 2026, with a targeted completion date of March 2027. The new Sprouts location will serve as a retail anchor for Northline, a long-term project led by Endeavor Real Estate Group that aims to redefine Leander’s downtown. Once completed, Northline will include residential, office, and park spaces alongside its retail core.

Sprouts’ addition reflects the area's momentum and growing demand for grocery and retail amenities as Leander continues its rapid expansion.

Sprouts’ Regional Growth Strategy

The Leander location is part of Sprouts’ broader effort to grow its presence in Central Texas. The grocery chain plans to open 12 stores throughout the Austin metro, signaling strong confidence in the region’s continued growth and consumer base.

Known for its fresh produce and organic selections, Sprouts caters to shoppers seeking natural and health-conscious food options — a niche that continues to gain popularity in suburban communities.

What to Expect

While the store is still a couple years from opening, it is set to be a significant draw for both Northline visitors and local residents. As Leander evolves into a more walkable, mixed-use destination, additions like Sprouts are expected to offer both convenience and community value.
