Unofficial results from the February 7 special election show Na’Cole Thompson has been elected mayor of Leander. Thompson received 3,372 votes, or 57.01 percent of the ballots cast. Challenger Mike Sanders earned 1,531 votes, or 25.88 percent, and Kathryn Pantalion-Parker received 1,001 votes, or 16.92 percent.

Election details

The election was held to fill the mayoral seat vacated by Christine DeLisle in October. The winner will serve the remainder of the current term, which runs through May 2027.

Candidate background

Thompson currently serves as Place 4 council member and mayor pro tem. She will resign from her council position to assume the role of mayor.
