Liberty Hill ISD has advanced plans for its next elementary school, confirming development of a new campus in the Saddleback section of Santa Rita Ranch. The school is scheduled to open as early as August 2027 and is designed to accommodate up to 1,000 students.
At a June 16 board meeting, PBK Architects shared the conceptual layout of the campus, which will be funded through the district’s 2023 bond package. The school is part of the district’s long-term plan to manage rapid population growth across Liberty Hill.
Planned location and capacity
The school will be built on a 13.5-acre site at the intersection of Tower Road and the future Saddleback Parkway near County Road 258. District officials said the campus will be modeled on the recently completed Tierra Rosa Elementary, with some updates to support a larger student body.
The two-story building will separate early and upper grade levels by floor. Designs also call for shared indoor and outdoor spaces intended to support learning, recreation, and community use.
Planned amenities and access
Key features in the current plan include a gymnasium, media center, cafeteria, and administrative offices. The site will also include a carpool lane with capacity for 260 vehicles, a separate bus loop, and dedicated access for students receiving special education services.
While final construction documents are still in development, the general vision and scope have received approval from the Liberty Hill ISD Board of Trustees.
Contract and next steps
The board also approved a $2,655,000 agreement with PBK Architects to provide full design services, covering everything from structural and mechanical planning to food service and technology design.
The campus is expected to open in fall 2027, although district officials noted that timeline could shift depending on future enrollment needs. The school will be Liberty Hill ISD’s ninth elementary campus.
