A Mobile Favorite Finds a Home

What began as a book trailer cruising through Williamson County is now evolving into a hometown treasure. Lioness Books, founded by former teacher Sarah Ambrus, has been on a mission to make reading accessible for everyone since 2024.

After winning hearts with its curated selection and community spirit, this indie favorite is planting roots in Old Town Leander at 208 N Gabriel, with a full brick-and-mortar bookstore opening in late 2025.

Curated Reads and Community Connection

Lioness Books is more than a place to buy novels. It’s a thoughtful collection of stories that reflect diverse voices and perspectives, everything from beloved classics to the newest must-reads.

Until the physical space is ready, you can still browse the mobile bookstore or shop online for easy access to their carefully chosen titles. And it’s not just about books. Expect this new location to host author events, book clubs, creative workshops, and cozy spaces designed for lingering. Think of it as a true “Third Space” where connection and creativity thrive.

The Next Chapter in Old Town

When the doors open, the atmosphere will be cozy and inviting, with soft lighting, comfy seating, and plenty of nooks to curl up with a book. This future bookstore is shaping up to be a hub for Leander’s literary community, a place where readers, writers, and families can gather, share ideas, and celebrate the joy of storytelling.
