Central Texas SPCA Breaks Ground on New Shelter Facility for Homeless Pets
The Central Texas SPCA, a private, nonprofit, no-kill shelter, will break ground later this month on a new facility designed to better serve homeless dogs and cats in Central Texas. The groundbreaking ceremony will take place on Friday, June 20 at 9:00 a.m. at the shelter’s current location: 909 S Bagdad Rd, Leander, TX 78641.
The event is by invitation only and will bring together local leaders, project partners, and longtime supporters of the CTSPCA’s mission.
For nearly 40 years, the Central Texas SPCA has been a place of second chances—a safe, compassionate environment where pets in need find healing and hope. The new facility represents a major step forward in the organization’s mission to give every animal the best possible path to a forever home.
“This next chapter reflects the same heart and purpose we’ve carried since the beginning: to be a place of hope for pets who need it most,” said ShaiAne Belinski, Manager of the Central Texas SPCA. “This new shelter will help us do even more, and do it better, for every animal we welcome through our doors.”
The new facility will feature thoughtfully designed spaces that create a more comfortable, home-like environment for the animals, improved treatment areas, and enhanced spaces for community interaction and adoption support.
The Central Texas SPCA relies on private donations, grants, adoption fees, and fundraisers to support its life-saving work. The groundbreaking marks the beginning of construction on a purpose-built space that will empower the organization to continue—and expand—its mission across the region.
