The Gist: Quick update for anyone who’s noticed the new Crunch Fitness project taking shape near Hero Way and US 183: the 45,000-square-foot gym is still expected to open this fall in Leander. The $11 million facility is planned to include traditional gym equipment, group fitness classes, personal training, hot yoga, infrared saunas, and a kids zone.

Why It Matters: Leander keeps growing, and so does the need for more close-to-home spots to work out, take a class, or squeeze in some movement between school drop-offs, work, and everything else. We’re especially excited to have a Crunch closer to home instead of having to head over to the Cedar Park location!

The Gist: Austin-based brewery and restaurant Pinthouse plans to open a Cedar Park location in the second half of 2027. The new site at 1605 E. New Hope Drive will include the company’s first dedicated outdoor beer garden, along with its full Pinthouse Pizza menu and expanded brewing capabilities.

Why It Matters: Pinthouse has built a strong following across Central Texas, and this expansion gives Cedar Park residents another local spot for food and drinks without heading into Austin. The outdoor beer garden is also expected to add a casual gathering space for neighbors to meet up and spend time together.
