The Cedar Rock Railroad, a popular mini train in Leander, is officially back on track after a significant renovation. Located in Southwest Williamson County Regional Park (3005 County Road 175), the attraction reopened on May 3 with several exciting updates, including a completely new track and a brand-new locomotive affectionately named Juniper.
Known for delighting young train enthusiasts and families alike, the Cedar Rock Railroad offers a leisurely loop through the scenic park. It now operates Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with extended weekend hours until 6 p.m. The upgrades promise a smoother, more comfortable ride while maintaining the charm that’s made it a community staple.
To mark the occasion, Cedar Rock Railroad is hosting a grand reopening celebration during Memorial Day weekend, from May 24 to May 26. While details haven’t been fully announced, families can expect a festive atmosphere to welcome the updated train and track.
