I took the kiddos to Film Alley in Georgetown again last week, and it was the perfect rainy-day escape. We saw Minions & Monsters, and I have to say, it exceeded my expectations!
Georgetown is technically just outside our usual coverage area, but this one is worth mentioning. Film Alley took over the former City Lights location and is run by Schulman Theatres, a Texas family-owned company. I love supporting a family business, especially when the tickets are some of the most affordable we’ve found nearby. It was under $25 for all three of us!
Of course, we never leave without a trip to the arcade, which is always a fun way to cap off the outing. They also have bowling and a restaurant, so you can easily turn a movie into a full afternoon with the family.
🎉 Cedar Park opens new RE|CREATE community center
The Gist: Cedar Park has officially opened RE|CREATE, a new multigenerational community center inside the former public library building. The $4 million renovation includes classrooms, a theater space, an indoor children's play area and year-round programs for kids, teens, adults and seniors.
Why It Matters: Instead of sitting underused, the former library has been transformed into a place where families can take classes, kids can play, teens can explore new interests and older adults can stay active. It's another community space that gives Cedar Park residents more reasons to get out, connect and spend time together close to home.
⛳ Kitfox’s Fun Center announces closure
The Gist: Kitfox’s Fun Center will permanently close on July 27 after struggling with low business and rising expenses. The team is inviting families to stop by during its final week and is also looking for buyers interested in items from the building.
Why It Matters: For many local families, Kitfox’s has been part of birthdays, rainy days and simple afternoons out with the kids. This is the last week to make one more memory, support the team and say goodbye to a place that brought a lot of fun to the community.
🍕 Chicago-style pizza done right

Sabino’s Pizza Pub is worth the drive when you’re in the mood for Chicago-style stuffed pizza, crispy wings and a relaxed night out. The stuffed pizzas are packed with toppings, the crust holds up well and the portions are definitely generous.
They also have wings, pasta and a good drink selection, so it works well for families or groups with different tastes. Come hungry, and plan on bringing some home for later.

Jaida's Clayworks is such a fun spot when you’re in the mood to do something creative with your hands. You don’t need any pottery experience to join in, and plenty of people end up coming back regularly once they get hooked.
They also offer date nights and activities for scouts and other groups, making it a great option for everything from a weeknight outing to a special get-together.
