🍜 Can’t agree on dinner? Try this Leander favorite

One of my favorite things about living here is being close enough to so many little road trip destinations. Sometimes you don’t need a big vacation, just a couple of days somewhere different to make summer feel special.

This past weekend, we headed to San Antonio for SeaWorld and a stay on the River Walk, and it did not disappoint. We’ve been to SeaWorld many times, but this was our first time visiting the water park portion, and it was great! The wave pool, lazy river, slides, and splash areas made it the perfect way to cool off and let the kids burn through every bit of summer energy.

The River Walk is always a highlight too. Walking by the water, watching the boats, finding a spot for dinner, and seeing everything lit up is such fun for the kids. I’d definitely recommend checking it out if you haven’t been in a while, or keeping it in mind the next time you want a fun little getaway without planning a full vacation.

The Gist: Dirt is moving on Noven, a new 107-home neighborhood planned on 37 acres near Ronald Reagan Boulevard and CR 177, not far from Georgetown’s Garey Park. Home sales are expected to start in September, with a grand opening planned for October.

Why it Matters: This part of Leander has been getting busier, and Noven is another sign of where growth is headed. It may not change your day-to-day right away, but projects like this help explain why more roads, schools, shops, and services are likely to keep following.

The Gist: A new three-story coworking office building called FUSE Cedar Park is planned for 801 Central Park Drive. The roughly $10 million project is expected to include private offices, coworking space, meeting rooms, event space, site work, and surface parking. State filings list construction beginning in early 2027, so this one is still a ways out.

Why it Matters: This isn’t something neighbors should expect to see open right away, but it’s another sign of Cedar Park’s long-term growth beyond shops and restaurants. As more people work remotely, start businesses, or run small teams close to home, spaces like this can give locals a place to meet, work, and connect without driving into Austin.

Umiya is a good one to keep in mind when everyone at the table is craving something different. The menu brings together Japanese and Korean favorites, with sushi, ramen, beef bulgogi and other hearty dishes all in one place.

Popular picks include the Phoenix Roll and ahi tuna tower, but the wide variety is really the draw. It works for a quick lunch or an easy dinner with friends or family, especially when you want plenty of options without overthinking it.

Mi Mundo Coffeehouse & Roastery has expanded from Round Rock to Cedar Park, bringing its thoughtfully roasted, ethically sourced coffee to even more local coffee lovers. Visitors praise the smooth lattes, coffee flights, fresh pastries, and welcoming atmosphere, with plenty of seating for work or catching up with friends.

Families also appreciate the dedicated kids' play area, making it easy for everyone to settle in and enjoy a relaxing visit.
