❤️‍🩹 A Leander bookstore needs us right now

We had such a fantastic Easter. Since we don’t have family here in Texas, holidays are usually just the four of us, but we’ve really come to treasure that in its own way. We make the most of our time together and soak up every little moment. The Easter Bunny was very good to the kids, we dyed eggs, and of course enjoyed our annual Easter Sunday sundaes, which have become one of our favorite traditions. I hope you and your family had a wonderful holiday too!

The Gist: This one is just heartbreaking. A fire destroyed the storage building for Lioness Books only weeks before the shop was set to move in, wiping out books, furniture, and tools they had worked so hard to gather. For now, the grand opening and Austin Book Trail plans are on hold. They’re accepting donations of books, water, and protective gear, and a GoFundMe has been set up to help them recover. Volunteers are also welcome to help with cleanup.

Why It Matters: It’s hard to see a local dream take such a big hit, especially right before opening day. But if there’s one thing our community does well, it’s show up for neighbors when it matters most. People are already stepping in to help Lioness Books rebuild, and that support could make all the difference in helping this special bookstore open its doors.

Static ATX Records may be small, but the selection punches well above its size. Crates are thoughtfully stocked with new and used vinyl, plus CDs and books, including harder-to-find genres you don’t frequently see elsewhere. Prices are fair, and regulars appreciate the extra store credit perks.

The vibe is relaxed and welcoming, with a focus on quality and care, making each visit feel like a solid, worthwhile dig.
